Balm of Gilead
When you pray for healing and
nothing happens, do you tell yourself
it just wasn't God's will?
Lilian B. Yeomans forged her life
with simple faith, believing that
God intended to give us more than
salvation through Jesus' death
and resurrection. Balm of Gilead shares stories of healing along with
Scriptures to help you understand
and embrace your divine right to
physical and spiritual health.

About the author …
Lilian B. Yeomans experienced first-hand what it meant to desperately
seek healing. In an effort to keep up with the workload of her own
medical practice, this physician became addicted to prescription medicine.
She didn't find freedom until she learned what the Bible had to say
about healing.

Defending the Body
Of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, we read that by His death on the
cross, He destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil
(Hebrews 2:14), so that saints and God can now overcome Satan by the
blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11).
Blood has many benefits. Here are three of them:
- Human blood defends the body by actually conquering deadly
microbes when they get into circulation. The soldiers of the blood, tiny
white corpuscles, called leukocytes, stand up and fight them to the
death. So the blood of the Lamb overcomes all Satan's power of sin,
sickness, and death if we will but believe and use it. We are made
"priests unto God" (Revelation 1:6). As priests, it is our prerogative to
use the Blood. It will bring victory every time if we do it in faith, for faith
will never let go till Satan is beaten down under our feet.
- By its marvelous power of coagulation, the blood stops bleeding, seals
up the wound, and starts repair work at the point of injury. So the blood
of Jesus heals our wounds, makes us "whole and strong and sound"
with "perfect soundness" (Acts 3:16).
- The blood continually bathes every cell in the body in tissue lymph.
This is their proper atmosphere without which they could not live. The
blood of Jesus Christ brings us into communion and fellowship with
God, the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3). God said, "I
will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat" (The place where the
blood was sprinkled) (Leviticus 16:2).
These things that human blood does for us are faint pictures, shadowy
representations, of what the blood of Christ Jesus does for those who
have believed on Him and have life through His name.
