Early this morning on MSNBC's Morning Joe, the cover for the next issue of TIME Magazine was revealed, and we are excited to share that this cover features Wilfredo "Choco" De Jesús, AG Pastor and author of a recent release by Influence Resources, Amazing Faith.
Pastor Choco pastors the largest Assemblies of God church in the United States, New Life Covenant Church in Chicago, Ill. The multi-fold cover features Pastor Choco's praying hands, and the flap opens to an image of him praying. AG pastor Heber David Paredes of Iglesia Roca de la Eternidad, Rock of Eternity Assemblies of God Church, in Landover, Md., is featured as well, along with other Latino evangelical pastors.
Over the past year, the national office has developed a plan to intentionally engage with national media, including strategic partnerships with world class organizations such as the A. Larry Ross firm in Dallas. These efforts made it possible for Dr. Wood to be interviewed by Fox News and share words of healing for our nation following the shootings in Colorado. This new strategy has facilitated the opportunity for the Assemblies of God and Pastor Choco.

Pastor Choco came from humble roots: doing maintenance work at an AG church as a teen to growing the largest AG church in the nation now at age 48. Through it all he's remained committed to the gospel and reaching the most hurting in his local community, and now around the world. New Life has more than 130 ministries – from food and clothing pantries, to transitional shelters, residential recovery and job training programs, mobile soup kitchens for the homeless and shut-ins, gang and at risk youth intervention, human trafficking advocacy, world missions and humanitarian relief, after school tutoring and sports programming, mentoring, prison outreach and immigration advocacy.
We spoke with Pastor Choco last week about his involvement with the TIME. "I'm really humbled to represent the Christian Latino community," he said. "I now bear a responsibility for that image and what it represents for millions of Hispanics around our nation and the world, that they would see that and feel proud. I'm humbled by it, but I also understand that with revelation comes responsibility."
